This figure dates to the manufactory’s sculptural period, when Johann Joachim Kändler worked alongside Friedrich Elias Meyer, Peter Reinicke, and Johann Friedrich Eberlein.

The Allegory of Sight is part of the Five Senses series, which is composed of Sight, Hearing, Smell, Taste, and Touch. A young woman in a richly carved robe holding a telescope and a book is accompanied by an eagle.
